B.E.T.'s 2012 'Rip The Runway' Tonight!! (UPDATE; Includes REVIEW and Grade Of Show)

Selita Ebanks Hosts Pooch Hall and Selita Ebanks onstage during BET's Rip the Runway 2012 at Hammerstein Ballroom on February 29, 2012 in New York City.

(Scroll down for complete review and grade of BET's 'Rip The Runway')

B.E.T.'s 'Rip The Runway' is a relatively young show that has really taken FASHION to another level by bringing it to the national airwaves (hence other competitors like NBC's 'Fashion Star'). The hosts for this year is Pooch Hall ('Derwin' from 'The Game') and supermodel Selita Ebanks.

If you know me, then you MUST know I'm all eyes and ears on this show. Guests are out-of-this-world fashion designers, as well as performers like Diggy Simmons and Jeremih, Estelle, Lil' Kim, Wale, and more.

Check out behind-the-scenes pics and videos and stay tuned to me by folowing me on Twitter @theonlyjaiden for up-to-date tweets about the show:

Update of 'Rip The Runway' 3/21/2012:

Rip The Runway was a very exciting show to behold, with performers in the midst of models strutting down the runway. Lots of Louboutins and Steve Maddens were spotted on the runway. Female models had OH SO MUCH beauty (mmm...) and the curvy girls who wore COLOR-BLOCKING clothes truly represented; a high point of the night. The male models, looking like straight out of a Sean John and GQ spread, carried tons of SWAGGER.

LaQuan Smith and the debut of Sass by Selita was also a high point.

On the downside, the show didn't deliver as much BANG as I thought it would. The decor, the background, the runway design, the hype crowd WON me over. The distraction was the performers all up on the runway with the models; I think the runway should be LEFT for the models while the performers do their shot 'off-center' like Robin Thicke did. Another distraction was I was hoping that the performers/models wouldn't bump into each other.

'Rip The Runway' celebrated urban designers but it seemed to be missing something; I'm honestly not exactly sure what it was. Was it that the program was too short (I didn't want it to end)? Was it the hosts (I thought Selita and Pooch were GREAT, but I would've preferred a little more behind-the-scenes interaction)? Was it that Angela Simmons was the only celeb to do a makeover on ONE girl (I wanted more makeovers for more girls)?

I shouldn't have to feel like I enjoyed NBC's 'Fashion Star' more than BET's 'Rip The Runway'.

You decide for yourself. The grade I give: B-

The Pinnacle of Icy, Edgy, and Color: CHANEL, ALEXANDER McQUEEN, COMME DES GARCON Winter 2012-13 Shows

I'm loving these FALL/WINTER 2012 runway shows. So ICY, EDGY, and CREATIVE!! What's not to love? Each of these collections go in their own direction, but seem to become cohesive in the language of ICY (models with 'stone' expressions and background design), EDGY (garment design from Chanel and Comme des Garcon), and CREATIVE (Alexander McQueen's 'fluffiness').

Check out these videos from Chanel, Alexander McQueen, and Comme des Garcon!!

Fan of LOUIS VUITTON? Check Out Amazing Grand Entrance Of Fall/winter 2012-13 Show

This is one over-the-top, grand entrance for LOuiS VuITTON's Women Fall/Winter 2012 collection. An actual train came rolling down the middle of the runway, then models dressed with a '30s kind of vibe step off the train while bellboys (I think that's what they're called) carry their sparkly and furry Louis Vuitton luggage.

Hott collection. See for yourself...

Video Weekend: 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2012 Runway Show

It's VIDEO WEEKEND! This is a new thing I'm experimenting with, showing you a variety of fashion shows over the weekend and giving my grade on the show.

3.1 Phillip Lim has always interested me with its gender-bending garments that a lot of men, or vice versa, wouldn't mind wearing. In this collection were a lot of pant suits and patterns that triggered a 'roaming' '70s and '80s vibe and invoked the feelings of airiness and ease, with a touch of edgy (no, it wasn't the music).

What do you think?

CASSIE goes 'Fun Biker Chick' At Paris Fashion Week; Wears Bon Jovi Tee & Bullet Earrings

Cassie was spotted at Paris Fashion Week... actually a lot of celebs were spotted there, what with Kanye West's Fall 2012 show and all. Cassie donned these unique bullet earrings, her hair pulled back to a mohawk/chignon style, to show off her side-shaved hair (something she had done before literally everyone else).

She also wore Super Matte flat top sunglasses for appx. $130, a Bon Jovi destroyed shirt, and a fringed jacket. She really did her look well, in a fun biker chick kind of way.

Always BET on BLACK: Gucci's Fall/winter 2012 Women Runway Show Puts Out Stunning Black Collection!

Another fine collection by GUCCI Fall/Winter 2012 Women's Show.

Extensive use of BLACKS, but surprisingly in a myriad of colors. I liked the DARK mood within the mirrors in the background that seemingly brightens the ambiance of an otherwise dark and dreary show.

Behind-The-Scenes of BURBERRY Fall/Winter 2012-13 Runway Show; Anna Wintour of VOGUE Comments

Check out this behind-the-scenes look at the Burberry Fall/Winter 2012-13 runway show. Boyy do I love a good runway show, especially seeing what goes into the process of a show before it actually comes down to the wire: the RUNWAY.

Also watch Anna Wintour, top lady of VOGUE Magazine, as she gives her comments on the show.

Three Runway Shows, Three Different Flavas: BURBERRY, JEREMY SCOTT, AND MOSCHINO Winter 2012 Lines

Check out ALL 3 VIDEOS, all 3 variations of very good and intriguing designs from BURBERRY, JEREMY SCOTT, AND MOSCHINO. All of these fashion houses have their designs aimed toward Fall/Winter 2012-13 but have their own flavor to it.

Burberry is more on the sophisicated and thoughtful side.
Jeremy Scott is just outrageous but good.
Moschino is my favorite for thorough use of colors and fabrics.

London Fashion Week: Lots of LACE in ERDEM Fall/Winter 2012-13

There is an ABUNDANCE of lace in this Erdem line. The use of contrasting lace and colorful garments underneath is just spot-on.

Lace has always spoken a language of elegance and sensuality together. So it makes the female, who already has elegance and sensuality, embody even more the language LACE speaks. There are also floral patterns that are cleverly matched with shoes and are pleasant to the eyes rather than busy floral patterns. Gotta love a match.

See more photos of this awesome line:

Don't this kinda make you feel like running through a meadow? LoL
